Where the reefs run wild
Mozambique’s coast is one of the Indian Ocean’s great secrets, bath-warm water, vivid coral reefs, and a year-round cast of big, gentle animals. After the cold thrill of the kelp forest and the sardine run, this is the soft, sun-soaked side of the ocean.
We drift over reefs alive with colour, hover beside manta cleaning stations, and snorkel with whale sharks gliding through the blue, slow, warm days built around being in the water.
The warm-water cast
Who you’ll meet in the water
Manta rays
Gliding in to cleaning stations, wide, curious and utterly calm.
Sharks
Reef sharks patrolling the drop-offs in the warm, clear blue.
Coral reefs
A riot of fish and colour over healthy tropical reef.
Turtles
Green and hawksbill turtles drifting gently over the reef.
How the days run
Slow, warm and full of life
Mornings on the reef, afternoons in the sun, evenings over fresh seafood. We launch through the surf, search the warm water for mantas and whale sharks, and spend long, gentle sessions over the coral.
As a marine biologist I’ll bring the reef to life for you, the cleaning-station behaviour, who eats what, how it all fits together, and photograph the encounters so you can simply enjoy them.
